Dare Winterguard is a non-profit competitive performing arts group that uses a combination of dance, flags, rifles and other equipment along with interpretive movement. As you know, robust music and arts programs are a benefit to every community. Winter Guard programs like ours foster a lifelong love of music and performance art amongst their members and spread that passion to the greater community through themed shows. In addition, members gain important interpersonal skills, learn discipline, and build physical flexibility and grace. Dare Winterguard is an All Age Independent Winter Guard which includes membership currently representing Broome and Chenango Counties and competes against other groups in the Mid York Color Guard Circuit (www.mycgc.org). Our program was started in 2018 as an all-inclusive group open to interested kids whose schools do not currently have a Winter Guard program and to anyone else who is passionate about this activity. Because our program is independent, Dare Winterguard receives no support from any school district. This means essential items such as flags, rifles, props, costumes and transportation are paid for by member fundraising efforts or sponsors. We are currently accepting donations and/or sponsors for our 2022-2023 season. For those who sponsor $25 and above, your name will be listed on our website as well as on our team t-shirt which all members and floor crew wear at all of our competitions.
